In 2006, these two companies merged to become Butterball, LLC. Butterball, LLC has since become a beloved consumer and foodservice brand, dedicated to bringing people together to celebrate occasions great and small. For 60 years we’ve seen a growing interest in Turkey. From Thanksgiving dinner to the perfect sandwich to a healthier breakfast choice – people love turkey. Butterball is committed to providing a variety of high quality, great tasting products that meet consumers’ needs. Butterball is the largest turkey producer in the United States and accounts for 20 percent of turkey production in the country. The Butterball Turkey Talk-Line, a customer service line dedicated to helping people roast turkey, opened in 1981 and handled more than 10,000 consumer calls that year. Today, the line receives more than 100,000 callers during the Thanksgiving season. Butterball employs more than 6,000 associates in its six plant locations, farms, hatcheries, feed mills, and corporate offices. At 675,000 square feet, the Butterball plant in Mt. Olive N.C. is the world’s largest turkey plant.
